Howdy speedgolf family!
You’re reading This Week in Speedgolf, the only place that celebrates when grown up adults with big bushy beards show up junior golfers.
Here’s what’s happening in speedgolf this week.
» Lauren Cupp clocks 75-in-62 on postpartum return
Lauren Cupp returned to competition last week for the first time since giving birth — and fired a 75 in 62 minutes to win the women’s title at the New York State Speedgolf Sprint.
Her 137 SG score marked a strong comeback, and she said she was “grateful to be back out there competing again.” You can watch her return here.
If you’ve got a kind word for a world-class mom, now’s a good time to leave it in the comments. Postpartum athletes are often magnets for criticism — but Lauren continues to be a force in the sport, on and off the course.
» Wes Cupp captures NYS Speedgolf Sprint on home course
Wes Cupp shot 4-over 76 in 47:18 to post a 123 SG and take the overall title — plus the $400 purse — at this year’s New York State Speedgolf Sprint, defeating Rob Hogan and Jim Davis on his home course.
A muggy day didn’t slow him down on his home course at Rome CC. And after what happened last time he invited a British Isles ringer to town (looking at you, Luke Willett), I salute Wes for restoring American dominance.
New York State Speedgolf Sprint | Rome, NY | Jul 17, 2025 (results)
- Elite M: Wes Cupp (USA) | 76 in 47:18 | 123:18

Wikland’s 129 SGS now stands as the Torslanda benchmark after eight starters tackled the windy seaside track.
